At the station

Simply fill out and print off the online application form and take it to your local station. Alternatively you can pick one up at your nearest staffed station ticket office or rail appointed Travel Agent. If you're applying for the first time you'll need one of the following to prove your age:

• Birth certificate
• Passport
• Driving licence
• ISIC card
• NUS cards are not accepted as proof of age.

You'll also need a passport size photograph and £20. Stations and agents accept cash, cheques, debit, credit and charge cards or postal orders.

If you're renewing your Railcard then you'll need to complete the application form, and take your:

• Existing Railcard
•  Photocard 
•  £20

These will automatically be accepted as proof of age.

Mature Students

If you're aged 26 or over, you'll need to provide proof that you're a full-time student at a recognised school or college. This has to be over 15 hours a week and for at least 20 weeks a year. You can either show an ISIC card or have the 'Mature students only' section of the application form completed and certified by your lecturer or the Students' Union.

You can buy your Railcard from any of the Train Company telesales numbers listed below. For full details of your nearest Train Company please call 08457 48 49 50. If you're buying for the first time, you'll need to have one of the items listed above, to prove your age to hand. If you're renewing your Railcard then quote your existing Photocard number, Railcard number and expiry date. Payment can be made by credit or debit card.
