AvSoc's aim to
• Engage- students with the aviation industry, by inviting in guest speakers, hosting trips and organising social activities.
• Educate- by encouraging positive thinking, sharing ideas and thoughts.
• Innovate- by bringing in new ideas, encouraging creativity and recognising talent.
We regularly host fun and educational trips. In the past our trips have included visiting London Heathrow Airport, British Airways' HQ in Waterside and Airbus manufacturing facility in Toulouse, south of France, as well as visiting career fairs and other industry conferences and events.
We do like to make our life at university as enjoyable as possible and we know having a social life is just as important as having a degree. We play football on the weekly bases (Tuesday's at 14:00), regular social events; in the past these have included ice-skating, bowling and sometimes we choose to have a lazy day and just opt to watch a film at the cinema instead!
AvSoc has introduced a Guest Lecture Series (check our Eventbrite page for the latest guest lectures). We invite renowned speakers from the industry, in the past these have included easyJet's commercial Manager and Emirates' Vice-President. We also invite our Alumni back in to give us hints and tips about making the most of our student life and to advise us on our future career aspirations.
