English Language Teaching Society – London Metropolitan University
Founded in 2025 by Josef Al-Raheme , a Master’s student in English Language Teaching at London Metropolitan University and a future PhD candidate, the English Language Teaching Society is a vibrant and forward-thinking academic community. It was established to support students and aspiring educators in exploring the theory and practice of English language teaching in both local and global contexts.
As the first society of its kind at the university, we aim to foster intellectual exchange, practical development, and professional growth through a range of activities including expert guest talks, collaborative workshops, research seminars, and career-focused events. Our mission is to bridge academic knowledge with classroom application, while promoting inclusive and culturally responsive language education.
Led by Josef Al-Raheme (Founder and President), alongside Haider Al-Raheme (Communications Officer) and Yara Gamal (Treasurer), the society is open to all students with an interest in TESOL, Applied Linguistics, language pedagogy, or international education. Together, we are building a platform for dialogue, innovation, and academic excellence within the ELT field.
