It’s time!
Voting for your Met Union Elections opens at 9am on Monday 26th October.
You can vote here!
The Met Union Elections give you the opportunity to choose who leads Met Union.
Elected student leaders drive campaigns, sit on university boards, and direct Met Union’s strategic priorities - all to shape the experience of the Met community.
Voting takes just a few moments; simply rank your preferred candidates in order of choice. Have your say by voting online via the Met Union website or visiting polling stations across Holloway, Aldgate, Shoreditch, and the Met Union building.
The roles available are:
School Officers (1 per school, 5 Total): Represent your school at a university level, working with senior university leaders to make sure that students’ interests are protected and campaign to make improvements to students’ academic experience. You will also be a member of our Student Council.
Liberation Officers (LGBTQ+, Women, Black and Minority Ethnic (BAME), and Disabled students): Represent members of your community’s interests, run campaigns and make improvements to their experience at London Met. You will also be a member of our Student Council.
Student Council Members (10): Be a member of Student Council, the policy-making and democratic body of Met Union. You get to represent students’ views and ensure that the officers’ campaigns meet the needs of all students at London Met. You will also have the opportunity to nominate yourself for Chair or Deputy Chair of Student Council if you wish.
Voting will open Monday 26th October at 9am and will close on Wednesday 28th October at 5pm.
Results will be announced after voting has closed, which we would normally expect to happen by the end of Friday 30th October.
The full election rules are available to view here.
If you have any questions, you can always email the SU elections team at suelections@londonmet.ac.uk or pop by one of our polling booths or the Met Union building!
Have your say, choose your representatives, and make London Met yours this Election.
Complaints
If you wish to make a complaint about a candidate or the election process, you must fill in the complaints form below. Once you have submitted your form, the Elections Team will investigate the complaint.
The form must be submitted by the person making the complaint. You cannot complain on behalf of another person, and you cannot make a complaint anonymously. Only current London Met students can make a complaint - this includes candidates, and all other London Met students. Where possible, it is best if you can be specific about your allegation, and provide all the evidence you have. You may wish to refer to the Election Rules (linked on this page) .
Complaints are investigated by the Met Union Elections Team, and sanctions are decided on by the Deputy Returning Officer (DRO), who is external from London Met. Appeals are sent to the Returning Officer (RO), who are also external from London Met. The decision of the RO is final.
Complaints should be submitted as soon as an issue is identified: any delays are unnecessary and against the spirit of the election. Making a malicious complaint against a candidate is considered a breach of the election rules. The deadline to make a complaint is 1 hour after the close of voting (Wednesday 28 October 2026 at 6pm).
If you have any questions, or want to discuss an issue informally with the Elections Team before making a complaint, please email suelections@londonmet.ac.uk
