What is the Annual Members Meeting?
The Union holds an Annual Members Meeting (AMM) every year. In this meeting, amongst other things, the Union's financial accounts are received and any policy is voted upon. Any member of the Union may attend the AMM and vote upon any policy within that meeting. Members will also get an opportunity to speak for or against a policy that is up for vote. Students can submit a motion (see below for information) or simply submit a 'matter to discuss'.
For example, you might like to have a discussion or debate on a local issue (e.g. something happening in your local community, in London or specifically at London Met Uni or at London Met Students' Union that affects students. Or a national issue e.g. something happening in the UK that affects students. Or an international issue e.g. something happening somewhere in the world that is having an effect on students. As long as in your view the issue is having an effect on London Met students then it is fine.
The AMM is also a chance for our student community to come together and chat, share ideas, develop friendships and get to know students who otherwise you may not have the opportunity to meet. We provide free pizza and soft drinks.
