So this October, let the possibility of representing your classmates, making a change around you, and leading the way to brand new places push you to lead your Students’ Union and represent the entire student body.

The Met Union Elections give you the opportunity to choose who leads Met Union, or to nominate yourself for a leadership position.
Elected student leaders drive campaigns, sit on university boards, and direct Met Union’s strategic priorities - all to shape the experience of the Met community.
Students are eligible for a variety of roles, like:
School Officers (1 per school, 5 Total): Represent your school at a university level, working with senior university leaders to make sure that students’ interests are protected and campaign to make improvements to students’ academic experience. You will also be a member of our Student Council.

Liberation Officers (LGBTQ+, Women, Black and Minority Ethnic (BAME), and Disabled students): Represent members of your community’s interests, run campaigns and make improvements to their experience at London Met. You will also be a member of our Student Council.

Student Council Members (10): Be a member of Student Council, the policy-making and democratic body of Met Union. You get to represent students’ views and ensure that the officers’ campaigns meet the needs of all students at London Met. You will also have the opportunity to nominate yourself for Chair or Deputy Chair of Student Council if you wish.

Nominations for the Met Union Elections are now open. You can put yourself forward for any 1 of the positions below, as long as you are a current London Met student studying for the full academic year. Nominations close at 5pm on Friday 9th October.
- Complete your nomination by clicking the link and completing the form.
- Once you have completed your nomination online, you will be invited to a candidate training session and asked to write a manifesto.
- Once written and approved, your manifesto will be shared with the student body ahead of voting
- Once posted, you’re officially in the running. Let the campaigning begin!
Voting will open Monday 26th October and will close on Wednesday 28th October at 5pm.
Results will be announced after voting has closed, which we would normally expect to happen by the end of Friday 30th October.

Please keep in mind that all roles are voluntary, with a term of office lasting until the end of this academic year. There will be work to do, so some time commitment is involved, but the roles are designed to fit around your academic studies and other work as much as is reasonable.
