About this group

Welcome to the LMU Aviation Society page, the Aviation Society was founded in 2014 with the aim to further enhance the student’s experiences, participation and self-development as well as to promote and engage students with the Aviation industry.

The society's motto is 'Engage, Educate and Innovate’.

AvSoc aims to:

students with the aviation industry by inviting guest speakers, hosting trips and organising social activities.

and encourage positive thinking and collaboration.

bringing in new ideas, encouraging creative thinking and recognising talent.

During your membership time with us you will be,

Invited to Guest Lectures by Industry Professionals:

We will be inviting in many renowned speakers from within the aviation industry. In past years these have included EasyJet’s commercial Manager and Emirates' Vice-President, we expect to build on this portfolio. We also invite our Alumni back in to give us hints and tips about making the most of our student life and to advise us on our future career aspirations. Our aim is to give the students a real insight into the industry through the eyes of our speakers who experience it on a day to day basis, it also gives students the opportunity to ask any questions they may have about a particular area and build contacts.

We will be hosting fun and educational trips. In the past our trips have included visiting London Heathrow Airport, British Airways' HQ in Waterside and Airbus manufacturing facility in Toulouse, south of France. We also visit career fairs and other industry conferences that will enhance your experience of the industry.

Social Events:

We do like to make our life at university as enjoyable as possible and we know having a social life is just as important as having a degree. We even have a dedicated officer working to put on the most enjoyable and relaxing events for you! In previous years we have gone ice-skating, bowling and sometimes we choose to have a lazy day and just opt to watch a film at the cinema instead!

To keep up-to-date with our latest activities and events, like our page on Facebook and follow us on Instagram and Twitter.
