Start a Group

Becoming a Group Leader isn’t just a great way to make friends and share your interests, it helps you grow and develop as a person; giving you the opportunity and voice to make an impact in a way that suits you.

Find out how to create a student group via our video below:

But don’t take our word for it, here’s what our Leaders have to say:

“Together with the Team I was able to create a safe virtual room for a minority group at our University and provided counselling and advice-giving professionals.” “I was able to interact with students studying all different courses.” “Members had an opportunity to make new friends, network and receive science-based information on Nutrition & Dietetics.” 75% of Leaders gained skills in Decision Making, Leadership, Confidence, and Time-Management. 88% feel like a valued member of London Met through leading a Student Group.

Any student at London Met can start a Society - you need to tell us your vision for the Society, including its name, regular events, and aims/goals, and put together a team to lead it, composed of a President, Secretary, and Treasurer. Once approved, you’ll have full access to booking rooms on campus, holding speaker talks, bidding for funding, and be backed up with training and tailored development advice from London Met Students’ Union staff.
