Join us for our Black Culture Festival - an event part of our Black History Month 365.

 

We have a day full of activities planned from Arts & Crafts to presentations (see full programme below) and FREE FOOD.

  • 13:00 Introduction to Festival

    • What does Black Joy mean to us?

 

  • 13:15-14:00  Presentations by Speaker Box Street Party &  (Jade)  

 

  • 14:00 - 15:30 Music & Painting

 

  • 15:30 - 16:30 Beyond there’s a Black Issue Dear (short film screening)

 

  • 16:30 - 17:00 Discussion on Black Joy as Revolution

    • delivered by Donna Jones on black LGBTQIA+ lives, followed by discussion W/ cast members from BTABID
       

  • 17:00 - 19:00 Open Mic

    • Featuring slam poets, singers, LMU DJ in between performers 

    •  students to perform 

    • Jade (Alumni) Presentations on ‘Being Black with a disability’ and ‘I am’

    • Food Time (Jerk Chicken, Curry Goat, Jollof Rice and more)
