Tammika Chambers - VP Education
Hello! My name is Tammika and I am your Vice President of Education this year at LMSU.
Student representation and support is my job, and I'm here to make sure your voices are heard. When making decisions that affect your academic experience at London Metropolitan University, we want to include you in the process! I intend to work with students, elected officials, and staff to ensure that all London Met students receive high-quality teaching and learning.
I am a Black British Caribbean woman who was born and raised in London, England, with three children. My parents and grandparents came from Jamaica, Saint Lucia, and Guyana. I've loved music and the performing arts, especially singing, since I was a child. In addition to these activities, I enjoy reading and watching documentaries to broaden my knowledge of our culture and meet new people.
My past experience has included being a Learning Support Assistant for children with impairments and special needs, and a Full-Time Teaching Assistant. Following this, I then chose to go to University to learn more about education. I recently received my Bachelor of Arts in Education with Honors from the School of Social Sciences. I was also a Student Rep during my 3 years as a student at London Met! Since then, I've learned to feel more confident while dealing with professional staff members.
An advocate for students and improvements, I have a greater understanding of the institution's workings. This has had a huge impact on my decision to become your Education Officer this year, and I can't wait to see what we can achieve together!
