GEORGE HANA

Your voice for positive change

My name is George Hana.  I am a BA Media and public relations disabled student at London Met. I want to stand for this position to be your voice in light of continuous changes and policies around inclusion of disabled people in the workplace and different obstacles they may face looking for interns, work experiences and securing full-time opportunities for work after graduation.  I will be able to voice your concerns effectively as I myself am a full-time wheelchair user and suffer from a visual impairment that I will be aware of different issues during forums within the university and outside.  I want to secure your rights in every possible way.

I have the following priorities:

  1.  Liaising with the relevant functions within the university to establish fully comprehensive and accessible programs to enable disabled students will university to security internships and work experience opportunities .
  2. Ask for a continuous review of access within the University facilities including equipment.
  3. Enforce an open door policy for voicing your concerns through different means of communication.
  4. Communicating with different stakeholders who have proven experience in the inclusion of disabled students within the University.
