London Met's very own Slavisa Gegic became British Universities boxing champion for U64kg in a fantastic victory at the University of Staffordshire. Slavisa defeated boxers from Cardiff Met, Loughborough and finally Portsmouth to record a well deserved gold medal.

Slavisa who boxes out of Islington Gym and is a Foundation student said, "I just trained really hard and felt I was getting better and better as the competition went on. The final was a tough one but to win unanimously was a great effort and I am so proud to bring the medal back to London Met. Thanks to all at the SU and a special thank you to boxing captain George Newman for coming to watch all three days."
