Hey, there! Welcome to London Met's Psychology Society.
Our aim is simple - to create a community for students who are passionate about human behaviour and where you can improve your skills, learn about mental health and meet like-minded people!
We will achieve this by:
1 - Assessment support and study skills - Where the students from higher years and alumni will share how they went about doing things, how they developed skills and how they aced their assessments.
3 - Mental health-focused sessions - In which our counselling services will explain the most frequent mental health issues students are faced with and how you can overcome them effectively - since wellbeing is not only good for you, but for your academic practice as well!
2 - Careers and employment support - Lead by our alumni and careers services, where you will learn different paths to a psychology career you always dreamt of, as well as how to make a good LinkedIn profile and leave a positive digital footprint.
4 - Debates - We will team up with other societies to debate different issues our world faces today, and present both sides of the argument. This will improve your communication skills, public speaking and critical thinking, which are all crucial in your studies!
5 - Parties - Because every good student needs to wind off! We will host quizzes, a Halloween party, and end of year party, where you can enjoy a snack, drinks, freebies and rewards!
These events take place at different times every week, so keep an eye on our Instagram and WhatsApp to know when and where we are meeting!
We fully understand how challenging balancing student, social, personal and home life can be, which is why we are a society that works around you! We make our list of events available a semester in advance so you have time to prioritise and make time for whichever events you would like.
So, whether you are a psychology student, or a student wanting to find out more about the wonderful world of it, we welcome you with open arms!
