If you are interested in restarting this society, please contact studentactivities@londonmet.ac.uk to start a conversation with the Student Communities Team about recruiting a President, Secretary, and Treasurer to reignite this society. 

 

Role descriptions for mandatory positions: 

President or equivalent: Leader of the community, responsible for motivating their team and setting out their vision for the year. The president will get the student group leaders together to make collective decisions related to their group/community.  

Secretary or equivalent: Responsible for the communications of the group and liaising with the Student’s Union to book space for events, activities and committee meetings. 

Treasurer or equivalent: Responsible for keeping track of the finances of the group, alongside bidding for additional funding. 

Other non-mandatory roles can be beneficial, such as a Health and Safety Officer who supports with risk assessments for activities and to ensure that the community is safe. 

Elections

Student Communities Committee Election 25-26

The Student Communities Committee is responsible for embedding student representation into the delivery of our service to students at London Met. It seeks to engage students in decision-making processes in Student Communities that affect Student Groups. The Committee consists of four elected representatives, 3 Student Group Leaders from any Student Group, and one from a Verve Media Student Group. The committee also consists of the VP of Activities and Opportunities, who is the chair of this committee with decision-making rights within the committee. The Committee has three key areas of responsibility: 1. Approving funding applications from Student Groups 2. Ensuring the Student Communities are student-led and supported 3. Undertaking ad-hoc business when required for key events Our aim is to ensure Student Communities are shaped by students, and students have the opportunity to use their experience of our service to shape it. If you think you are the right person for this role, please write a manifesto outlining why you should be elected and go up for polling from the 6th of October.
