About me:
Hello, my name is Aysha, I am currently studying Criminology and Sociology and I am also the Student rep of my course.
What have you been able to achieve so far?
So far I have been able to enhance my knowledge of the Student’s Union and the support we all provide as a team. I have also been able to seek amazing connections throughout the university that have helped to provide the best results following the requests made by students on the Criminology and Sociology course.
I have successfully campaigned for more resources such as;
- core module books and e-books for the Criminology and Sociology course.
- for more formative assignments as students found that they were able to practice and improve their assignment writing skills
- more supportive feedback from lecturers
Why do you want to be a Student Officer?
I am currently running for Student Officer for the Social Sciences faculty as I strongly believe in empowering the student voice as we are in control of our education! It would be my duty to ensure that all of your concerns, constructive criticisms and positive feedbacks are being heard and acted upon promptly.
What are your future plans?
As your Student Officer, I plan to:
- enhance communication and deliver transparency as it’s important that we are all kept up to date with new information provided by the university, lecturers and modules leaders
- alter due dates for vital deadlines to ensure that they are not due on consecutive days or on the same day
- increase academic support, specifically leading up to exams and assignments e.g, providing the best revision techniques that meet students needs.
- focus on students wellbeing by promoting the development of strong supportive relationships throughout the university and focusing on building students confidence to ensure they’re being heard.
Remember to vote for me as your Student Officer because your voice is my voice and together WE WILL be heard !!
