The annual student group leaders election offers all members within a particular student group the opportunity to put themselves forward for a student group leader role. Being a student group leader involves providing direction, coordinating activities, making decisions, offering support, solving problems, managing time, and representing the group. It's a role that develops leadership skills and promotes teamwork.
Student Group President:
Leader of the group, responsible for motivating their team and setting out their vision for the year. The president will get the student group leaders together to make collective decision related to their group/society.
Student Group Secretary:
Responsible for the communications of the group, and liaising with the Students’ Union to book space for events and activities or committee meetings.
Student Group Treasurer:
Responsible for keeping track of the finances of the group, alongside bidding for additional funding.
Student Group Health and Safety Officer:
The Health and Safety Officer holds a crucial position within any society, prioritizing the well-being and safety of all members. As the Health and Safety Officer, their primary responsibility is to ensure that the rooms and areas in which the society operates is a safe and healthy environment, minimizing potential risks and promoting a culture of well-being. Also, the Health and Safety Officer will be the main person to produce risk assessments and ensure safety throughout the group/society.
