Usually, the start of the academic year in late September is the time when courses choose their Student Reps. However, for 2021-22 we are going to do something a little different.
Feedback from students, student reps and staff has told us that it would be much better if reps were in place from the start of the semester for as many courses as possible. This would mean student rep training and support could happen much earlier and our reps will be better supported going into key activities like the course committee meetings.
Therefore all cohorts of students, apart from those yet to join the university will be elected in May 2021, before the end of the academic year. We have asked Course Leaders, with our support here in the Students' Union to facilitate these elections. So if you are already a Student Rep, please have a think if you would like to retain the role next academic year of 2021-22.
This is a new development for London Met, in a year when almost everything has been done in a different way. So please help us out by reminding your Course Leader that we are doing this and help us make it happen! We have asked Course Leaders to complete the election of reps and return these details to the Students' Union by Friday 14th May (the last week of teaching).
