In July 2017 the newly elected Students' Union sabbatical officers and staff spent the day at Mind Yourself, a charity based just off Holloway Road. Mind Yourself promote the health and Wellbeing for Irish People in London. We helped them tidy up and prepare their garden and prepare and cook food at their BBQ. We chatted with the members and friends of Mind Yourself, followed by some traditional Irish music and dance. The aim of the day for us was team-building and to help support our local community. Students' Union President Tunde Toki told Verve Media 'we had a great day at Mind Yourself and we were very pleased to be able to help our local community'
Lisa Harrison CEO of Mind Yourself added:
“We are really grateful to the hardworking volunteers from London Met who helped make our big day such a success. We hope they’ll come back and that their experience will encourage more students to come along and volunteer!”
