Student Services are currently recruiting a new team of volunteer buddies to provide additional support and guidance to some of our new London Met students from September 2021.

The aim of the programme is to support new and incoming students who might need a bit of extra help in their first few weeks and months at London Met. You will partner up with at least 1 first-year student to provide peer support, social opportunities, and guidance for approximately 1 hour a week.

We will be providing a full programme of training over the summer to ensure that all volunteers are ready to work with our new students from induction week in September 2021. Ongoing support and supervision will also be provided throughout the programme.

Ideally, volunteers should:

  • Be current students going into their 2nd or 3rd year of undergraduate study or continuing with postgraduate study

  • Identify as 1 or more of the following:

    • Disabled/Have a Long Term Medical or Mental Health Condition

    • Care Leaver

    • International Student (including EU)

    • Estranged

  • Be able to commit to the training (approximately 1 hour per week) and being paired with students to support for 1-2 hours per week.

If you are interested in being a volunteer buddy with the Student Services Buddy Scheme, then please complete our short online Application Form by Friday 2nd July 2021.
