About this group

The London Metropolitan Marxist Society exists both to discuss Marxist ideas, and to put theory to action. Come along to our meetings and get involved!

“Without revolutionary theory, there can be no revolutionary movement” - V. I. Lenin

LMU Marxist Society is a group organising for international revolution around the ideas of Marx, Engels, Lenin and Trotsky. We are aiming to have regular meetings on a variety of topics from current events both nationally and internationally to economics, philosophy, history and more! All from a Marxist perspective.

We are involved in organising and educating both in and out of the University. For example, this year during the UCU strikes we have been side by side with strikers at both City and UCL universities trying to support the pickets with our sister Marxist societies in both universities and fuly intend to help support any further disputes that arise on the industrial front as well as supporting any protests that also happen such as the COP 26 demonstrations last year or the BLM movement.

We have also been holding reading groups on the classic Marxist texts such as the Communist Manifesto, Socialism: Utopian And ScientificThe State And Revolution and more!

Ontop of this we are currently building for attendance at the online International Marxist University, a gathering of Marxists across the globe to communicate together and discuss topics like historical materalism, anarchism and more! If you want to get involved then just get in touch!
