Hi there, My name is Lucy Li and I’m second year Biochemistry BSc student who’d like to stand for the student council member position next year. Since starting my course from foundation year, I have a very good understanding of the student culture, how things typically run at the university, and came to know my peers and also university staff from working full-time at the university. I'm currently the Biochemistry student representative and also serve as deputy chair of the Student Council.

During my time as a student representative, I have fought to bring about equality between student and staff in order to bring about the core values of the Student Partnership agreement. After becoming the Student Council deputy chair, I've also gained organization skills and leadership skills towards how student voices are represented in the council, how the council is run, and how we can address these concerns. As a mature student, I am a great team player from working in marketing and also gained excellent interpersonal skills from my current job as an Employer Engagement Administrator at the London Met, where I help students obtain work placements, liaise with internal staff, and source placements from external organizations. I’m also involved with the London Met Lab initiative to promote community engagement and civic activities from both students and staff. I'm passionate about continuing my duties as a student council member next year because I would like to be part of the movement to elevate student experiences and leave behind positive changes for our future students to look forward to.

I believe my connection with a diverse group of students, unique perspective as both student and staff, excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills, and belief in bringing about change from the Student Partnership Agreement would make me the ideal candidate as a student council member. If I'm re-elected, I plan to continue representing my fellow peers on the student council as a student representative and also run as deputy chair of the Student Council next year to voice student concerns and bring about positive changes.
