Long Term and Recurring Conditions

Can I claim mitigating circumstances based on a long-term or recurring condition?

The Mitigating Circumstances procedure only considers unforeseen circumstances that have affected past assessment deadlines.

Therefore, disabilities or long-term medical conditions are not considered in this procedure (unless it has suddenly worsened).

The Disabilities and Dyslexia Service (DDS)

If you have a disability/long-term medical condition requiring adjustments or feel you may be eligible for support, we would advise contacting the Disabilities and Dyslexia Service (DDS).

You can email them at studentservices@londonmet.ac.uk or give them a call at +44 (0) 207 320 2848.

Adjustments can be put in place throughout the year, such as longer assessment deadlines or extra time during exams.

If you are already registered with the DDS but your circumstances have changed, please contact them as soon as possible.
