How to write an appeal

We recommend that your appeal should be no longer then 2 sides of A4. 

Key points:

  • Write your statement as a formal letter, beginning with an introduction that includes the ground(s) on which you are appealing

  • Provide as much detail as possible, including dates and durations of any incidents where possible

  • Write in chronological order

  • Refer to the ground on which you are appealing in your statement

  • Be specific about your situation and the impact it had on your academic performance

  • Refer to the evidence document(s) you will provide alongside your appeal

  • Conclude with a summary and highlight any key points. Explain what outcome you’re hoping to achieve by making an appeal
